Christmas Ideas for bikers

Not sure what to get your beloved two-wheeled enthusiast for Christmas? This list will give you 4 good ideas!

Christmas is nearly upon us, and holiday shopping is in full-swing. But what to get for the biker/motorcyclist on your list? Why not something they can use or wear all the time, something to make the experience better!

Every mountain biker has been out on a ride and run out of water. Nothing is worse than worrying or even cutting a ride short due to water woes. Most bikes only have space for one bottle in the front triangle, and this is where hydration packs shine.

A hydration pack is backpack or waist pack with a bladder and a remote line. Common sizes are 1.5L - 4L, and it’s possible to find packs as big as 10L. Another benefit of a hydration pack is the additional storage the bag provides. Spare parts, snacks, tools, extra layers, car keys and treats for your trail dog can all fit on your back. This is a great gift for both mountain bikers and dirt bikers. For mountain bikers, Jenson USA will have a great selection of packs. For dirt bikers/ADV riders try Revzilla.

One of these packs has served me well over the years, and the other I’m hoping to get some long term impressions on.

Another thing that riders can never have too many pairs of: gloves. Lightweight and breathable materials are ideal for summer riding gloves, but when winter rolls around, an insulated, water-resistant glove is the better choice. Lots of apparel brands (Fox, Specialized, Endura, Klim, Outdoor Research) make cold-weather gloves with an assortment of specs so a glove is available for every need.

If you are shopping for a motorcyclist, gloves should have some level of impact and abrasion resistance. It requires a bit more reading into item specs, but manufacturers do typically provide ratings/testing standard for the materials.

Riding is way more fun than working, but all bikes require maintenance. But nobody likes working on a dirty bike, or the mess it tracks into the workspace. So when it comes time to work, give that person the gift of a clean machine. Consumable shop items like microfiber towels, degreasers, chain lube, penetrating oils, etc. are part of routine maintenance. A detailing/cleaning kit is a thoughtful gift for someone who wants to protect their pride and joy.

The more you work on, the more bottles you collect. Just some of the many products available to keep bikes clean and looking their best.

We here at GAS can’t round out a Christmas gift idea list without mentioning our own shirts (available now in our Shop). Our shirts are the perfect gift for the person in your life who likes to ride far, ride fast, and has no intention of slowing down.

Merry Christmas from Green Action Sports!
